Lana & Luke Wedding | Mystwood Estate Hunter Valley

This one was special for me! I have known these two awesome kids for over a year now. We met, back in Cronulla where we were both living at the time, and they came to me for an engagement shoot. I figured sure, these two are pretty easy on the eye and seem real easy going. So we headed down to Garie Beach, and had what can only be described as one of the best sessions I have ever had, to date. They were naturals, and just so easy to hang with.

When they told me 2 weeks later they wanted me to photograph their wedding, I was absolutely stoked. I was honored in fact.  So we met, for beers at Northies (if you are from the Shire, you know…) and locked everything in.

Fast forward nearly a year to their big day, and I was pumped. I love feeling this excited for a wedding. It makes time fly, and it just makes working a joy! It’s like hanging out with friends for 10 hours.

One thing Lana and Luke did right, which is super important, is they organised themselves well in advance. Instead of just searching for 100 alternatives, they found vendors they liked, and locked them in (this reduces stress of planning a wedding, check out why)! They knew what they wanted, and that was that. The day itself went off without a single wobble. It was pure bliss, located in the stunning Wollombi Valley at Mystwood Retreat. Surrounded by cattle, tall trees, and vast rock faces, this venue is tucked away at the very bottom of the valley. No phone reception here, which, let’s face it, forces your guests to have a good time with one another instead of snapchatting or Insta Storying everything.
